Our therapy horses also provide unique activities for the public. They are very good riding lesson horses for improving your  preferred riding discipline, negotiating obstacles and trail rides. Our main focus is bringing the historical working horse discipline of Working Equitation to our students. It fits any breed of horse, can be ridden in any saddle, and appeals to riders who have their own preference in attire. Good for beginners through advanced.

 

Our horses are also trained in mounted military exercises practiced in historical times. Some are skilled in horseback archery, some in jousting, some in sword play. All these activities start with (pretend) weapons handling on the ground, and then we take it to the back of the horse. Horsemanship must be improved to allow for riding with one hand and guiding the horse with legs and body. We have been known to provide demos to the public in local Renaissance Faires and parades.
